POLG Patients in Crisis

Lay Abstract

This project will create a POLG Crisis Response Database, a resource from the pooled latest knowledge of medical experts caring for POLG patients, available to all physicians to assist in the acute care of POLG patients during a mitochondrial crisis.

Amy Goldstein, MD, is an attending physician in the Division of Human Genetics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Her clinical expertise includes mitochondrial disease and child neurology.

Dr. Mary Kay Koenig

Mary Kay Koenig, MD, is a Professor in the Division of Child and Adolescent Neurology and Director of the Center for the Treatment of Pediatric Neurodegenerative Disease. She serves as the Endowed Chair of Mitochondrial Medicine and Associate Vice-Chair for Clinical Research in the Department of Pediatrics.
